Here, there and everywhere!

Hey, y'all! Well, I am working on my list of things to do (and the many, many things that come up for me to do that are not on my list) in the next 2 and 1/2 hours before I head out of town--again!
The trip to San Angelo was great; I had so much fun, hanging out with Amber and Caleb, getting to see and visit some of our friends in San Angelo, teaching Good News Club, going to church--even babysitting! :D The only part of the whole trip that was not fun was being sick in the middle of the night Tuesday night...I still have no idea what caused it or anything, I threw up once and then was fine the next morning. My nurse-big-sister was not happy that I didn't wake her up to take care of me, but what could she have done? *shrug*
Tuesday evening, Amber, Caleb, and I went to see Fireproof--again. It was Caleb's first time to see it, but it was mine and Amber's third. :D It's a great movie, y'all! And still in the top 10, much to the surprise of many people (but not anyone that truly believes God still works in the world today). Anyone who hasn't seen it, you should really go watch it! And if you have seen it...well, you can either go watch it again or try to patiently wait until it comes out on DVD--whenever that is going to happen.
So, I got home from San Angelo on Friday, and then on Monday I went up to Tulia to visit my dad's mom. I just got home from there last night. That was also a good trip! I had a good time, just hanging around with Nanna, going shopping in Plainview, helping cook the Wednesday night meal at her church, and celebrating her birthday on Wednesday. It was a pretty quiet few days, a nice change of pace from my usually busy, noisy world of boys (whom I love very dearly, so I try not to complain...most of the time!). :D
This weekend, I'm going to a Gaither Vocal Band/Ernie Haase & Signature Sound concert in Wichita Falls with Mom, Amber, and Nana Rollins (Mom's mom). I have been counting down the days to this concert, and it's almost here! It's tomorrow night, so I'm sure that I can survive just a little while longer. :D We found out last weekend that Guy Penrod, the GVB's lead singer for 14 years and one of our absolute favorite singers, won't be there because he's on sabbatical for "a few weeks". We're kind of disappointed that we won't get to see him, though we're glad he's getting to take a break, but David Phelps (former GVB tenor) will be filling in for him this weekend and we enjoy him a lot, too. Just in case anyone wants to know, there are three different singers who will take turns covering Guy's part while he's gone: David Phelps, Mark Lowry, and Jason Crabb. They're all good!
Tonight I'm driving down to San Angelo so I can ride with Amber and Nana to Weatherford, where we'll get Mom and hang around for a little while before heading up to Wichita Falls. Dad and the boys are actually going to come to Weatherford, too, but I have to come back before they're planning to, so that's why I'm going through San Angelo both ways. It's a bit complicated! :D
Well, that's pretty much all that's going on right now. I'll be home Monday, and will stay home for a couple weeks, anyway. I'll be sure to post a review of the GVB/EH&SS concert when I get home!
Y'all have a blessed weekend! :D

Sex & "the good Christian single"

Yep. Buckle up, we're going there. This post might get a little uncomfortable, but it's a topic that can't exactly be ignored! And, as I said at the beginning of this little "series" earlier this year, "my goal is to be uncomfortably honest, vulnerable, real, raw." Besides, the world is talking about sex all the time , and if we as Jesus-followers don't talk about it from a Jesus-perspective, the world is going to shape the views and opinions of sex for an entire generation. Or two. Or more.  Let's start with some basic statements just for the sake of clarity: 1. Sex is God's idea, and it is good.  All through the Bible, from Adam & Eve being "naked & unashamed" in the garden of Eden (Genesis 2), to the graphic love poetry of Song of Solomon, to Paul exhorting husbands and wives to freely share their bodies with one another in 1 Corinthians 7, the Bible paints a picture of sex within marriage being good, beautiful, encourag

Six Flags!

Some would no doubt consider it a strange "Sabbath kick-off", but for me a trip to Six Flags Over Texas (in Arlington) was just the ticket! Between my love of roller coasters, the nostalgia this place holds, and the healthy benefits of fresh air and sunshine, it was fantastic. Oh, and the company was pretty great, too. The only thing that could have made it better would have been to have my "OG Six Flags fam" along--aka, my family and the Vests, of course! Six Flags has always been about facing and overcoming fear for me. I was a very fearful/timid child, and as an adult looking back I think one of the best things my parents did for my little anxious self was take me to ride roller coasters!! (I would insert the "tears of joy" emoji here if I could!) I was coaxed and cajoled on to rides I was hesitant about, but never forced to ride anything--though I waited in every line with them and I was not allowed to complain. Every year, there were rides where

oh, look! it's a blog!

I really thought I was going to do better at blogging this month. Ha! I have a post in my drafts section that I started two weeks ago, but there it sits. It's going to require more time and thought to finish than I have at this moment, so it will have to wait. However, it IS going to get finished and posted at some point! :) Today, for most of the day it's just Jonathan and I here at home. Weird, huh? Daddy, Micah, and Josiah are at a men's retreat/camp-out with the church, and Momma had to work today. So, Jonathan and I are hanging out (read: cleaning house and putting the new sheets on the beds and icing cupcakes :) ). This evening, there is a "praise for pro-life" thing at a church here in Springtown that we're planning to go to. It's a fundraiser for a pregnancy center. (October 24, 6 pm, Outreach of Love church on Hwy 199 in Springtown, admission is a baby bottle full of change...just in case anyone wanted to know!) Tomorrow after church, we're ha
